A Glance To Asif Ali

Asif Ali (Malayalamആസിഫ് അലി ; born 4 February 1986) is an Indian film actor who works in Malayalam cinema. He made his debut in 2009 in the acclaimed film Ritu and now acted mostly in supporting roles in malayalam film industry.


Asif Ali was born in Ranni and later lives on Karikkode near Thodupuzha in Idukki district of Kerala, to M. P. Shoukath Ali and Molly on 4 February 1986. His father M. P. Shoukath Ali was the former Muncipal Chairman of Thodupuzha Muncipality. He has a younger brother Askar Ali. His initial schooling was at De Paul Public School, Thodupuzha and Rajarshi Memorial School, Puthankurishu, Thrippunithura. He did his degree in Business Administration from Marian CollegeKuttikkanam. One of his album song was "Aadhyamayi.." in Himamazhayil album.[1] While pursuing a degree abroad, he modelled for ads, worked as a video jockey and was selected by Shyamaprasad to play one of the lead roles in his film Ritu.[2] After the release of the movie Ritu only did Asif's family know that he had acted in a film.


Asif Ali made debut through Shyamaprasad's musical film Ritu,[3] co-starring Nishan and Rima Kallingal. He was then approached by veteran Sathyan Anthikkad to play an supporting role in his 50th film Kadha Thudarunnu, starring Jayaram and Mamta Mohandas in the lead roles. This film was a runaway success and completed 75 days all over Kerala. In his third film Apoorvaragam, directed by veteran Sibi Malayil, he again co-acted with Nishan. He has completed M. A. Nishadh's Best Of Luck[4] and debutante Rajesh Kannamkara's Ithu Nammude Katha.[5] Rajesh Pillai'sTraffic, written by Sanjay & Bobby, starring SreenivasanKunchacko BobanVineeth Sreenivasan and Roma was a big hit. Asif's next movies were Violin directed by Sibi Malayil where Nithya Menon is the heroine of the film and Salt N' Pepper directed by Aashiq Abu starring LalMythiliShwetha Menon in which he played supporting role was also a big hit. Other recent perfomances include roles in SevenesDoctor Love both had a bad run at the box office and Indian Rupee in which he did a cameo appearance.
